"Monjitas Sunday Best"
Premiering at California College of the Arts, Angela Zamora's short stop-motion film works with concepts of self-labor, Mexican-American Identity, and Spiritual Impact during times of stress. The short follows Monjita's invitation to a Nun Party where she then constructs and sews her own conservative Nun outfit. Monjita reveals her final look in resemblance to Spiritually idolized sculptures. Through set design and theme, Angela Zamora personalizes her short to reflect her cultural identity and family ancestry, filming the short in reflection of sacrifice and lineage.

"My Nest" Sculptural Stop Motion November 2023 (1:32)
"My Nest” follows the climb to reach my seclusion, whilst my brother narrates the conversation with a game of hide-and-seek. Created of mostly second-hand materials, transformed and created by hand. "My Nest" combines stop motion, in and out of studio, with mixed media stitched paper animation to convey feelings of self-isolation and religious injury.

"Our Routine of Crossing" April 2023
The story of my families routine visiting our home country. We would travel to Mexico almost every weekend for my dads work and then do something fun as a family after waiting in the car for hours.
Through collecting and recoloring my old footage from Mexico I relived my past memories and healed my sense of longing to go back. All materials are second hand and materials I would see my dad working with, metal, wire, wood etc.
Audio is from footage I took in middle school and videos my family sends me of my brother.
Instrumental: San Salvador: Tamba 4

"Tapiz Mezclado" November 2022
Many Mexicans have struggled with ties to Catholicism, it feels comfortable yet conforming. Identifying with my native identity and culture I used sage I had dried out and tied it with a ribbon used commonly for traditional braids. Beneath the sage is a patch inspired by the sacred heart, which is associated with Catholicism. The dynamic of these alongside each other plays with the misfortune of catholic and native practices overlapping. In the center of my piece lies the cross. My connection to the cross like most Mexican-Americans is difficult, its been established in our families to follow this religion but with that comes a history of mistreatment.
